(1) Official visas will be granted to the following foreigners and their families on the recommendation of the appropriate foreign diplomatic agencies and their families as deemed suitable by the Government of Nepal.
(a) Resident or non-resident diplomatic missions for Nepal, administrative, technical and non-diplomatic staff working in consulates and dependent Nepali unpaid consuls-general, consuls and their families visiting Nepal from foreign countries,
(b) Consultant experts staying in Nepal according to the agreement with the Government of Nepal (c) Employees working in the Nepalese office of the United Nations or its affiliated organizations and persons in receipt of laissez-faire granted by the United Nations,
(d) Employees working in international organizations or regional organizations located in Nepal, (e) People coming to participate in meetings, conferences, trainings or meetings organized by the Government of Nepal or entities owned by the Government of Nepal or the United Nations or regional organizations or other entities under it.
(2) Application for formal visa should be made in the format as per schedule-1. However, if there is a request or recommendation with details from a foreign diplomatic mission or an authorized body for such work, the application according to Schedule-1 shall not be submitted.
